The Strategy Shelf
Strategy is the shelf where Lootvyn's readers slow down on purpose. The 102 files here share one conviction: the interesting moment in a game is not the explosion but the decision three moves earlier that made the explosion inevitable — or unnecessary. At one end stand the tower plans and castle defenses, where strategy is geometry: ground, range, timing. At the other end are the merge battlers and empire puzzles, where strategy is economics: what to build, what to combine, what to leave deliberately unbuilt because the reserve matters more.
A word on how the shelf is ordered. Files stand in the ranking our supplier assigns them, strongest first, and we do not reshuffle them to flatter our own taste — our taste is published separately, in the portfolios, where it can be argued with. If you are new to the shelf, take the front files as the syllabus: they teach the genre's grammar quickly. If you are returning, the deeper files are where the experiments live — hybrids and oddities that a blander catalogue would have filed under three other names.
This shelf currently carries 102 strategy holdings, filed in book order — the strongest-rated entries toward the front.
