The Farm Books: Fields, Flocks and Working Weekends
Farming is the original simulation genre — the first spreadsheets were fields. This portfolio gathers the farm and animal files we'd hand to a new reader: games where a season is a budget, livestock is a savings account, and the whole enterprise fits in a browser tab. The mood is gentle; the arithmetic underneath is anything but, which is precisely the combination this site exists to celebrate.
Start with the hedgehog. The front of this list holds the fullest farm books — planting, crafting, cooking and selling in one connected loop — while the later entries specialise: pure poultry economics, pet keeping, single-crop devotion. Notes flag which is which, so you can choose between a diversified holding and a beautiful monoculture.
The holdings, with our reasoning
The ledger's cover star: one hedgehog, one derelict plot, and a farm book that grows to include cooking, fishing and crafting. Start here.
The gentlest file in the book — pocket pets kept, fed and fussed over, for readers whose ideal simulation has no deadline at all.
Fieldwork as a profession — acreage, machinery and the discipline of getting a whole farm through its calendar.
The farm run as a care business: animals, upkeep and expansion, with a tycoon's eye on the balance.
Eggs in, upgrades out. A chicken economy so complete it also appears in our idle portfolio, wearing its other hat.
